The preparations for this year's Geeta Chanting Competition commenced in June 2018 with the Gita Dhootas workshop and culminated in the Area Finals, which was held in SIES School, Matunga.

The Annual Geeta Chanting Competition finals for the area Dahisar to Kandivili was conducted at Children’s Academy School, Kandivali East, with 280 qualifying participants. Malad to Jogeshwari area was conducted at Gokuldham High School, Goregaon on 16th December 2018, with 233 qualifying participants.

Children of all castes took part in the events; not just Hindus but also from Catholic and Muslim communities came together.

The finals of Chinmaya Geeta Chanting Competition 2018 – Jagadeeshwara zone, was organized at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai. Fifteen schools participated – seven schools from Powai, four from Marol, four from Kajupada and two Bala Vihars. Totally 640 students participated – 350 from Powai, 155 from Marol and 56 students from Kajupada respectively.

Parenting Workshop during Geeta Chanting Competition Finals
While technology has made our life easier and simpler in various aspects, parenting a child who has learned to swipe a screen before he or she can hold a crayon does raise unique dilemmas and challenges for parents. During the Geeta-chanting Competition, conducted at Prerana, a workshop on 21st Century Parenting was organized, to specially address the concerns and challenges in bringing up today’s children, conducted by Shri Vidhu Sharma.
