Calm Amidst Chaos was attended by professionals from various fields such as advertising, accounting, teaching etc. Beginning by realizing whether one was calm or not, one understood what a calm mind is and the importance of being ‘Calm Amidst Chaos’. Through games, quizzes, interactions and handouts, Swamiji kept the audience involved and passed on simple techniques to calm oneself.

To exemplify, with the help of games, puzzles, activities Swamiji explained the many ways in which one can train the mind to remain calm amidst chaos.

To mention a few:

1. Emotional hijack - a process where impulsive emotions hijack your intelligence. At such instances, postpone your decision-making, because, invariably, they will be wrong.

 

2. Use Stabilizers

- Activate the frontal lobe.

- Delay gratification and self-discipline.

- Deep breathing

- Practice single-pointedness

 

3. Neither joy nor sorrow are permanent.

Therefore, learn to accept and let go.

4. Keep your mind occupied with higher goals.

Have a higher purpose and live like the lighthouse - strong, steadfast, spread light and remain firm in values.

The attendees went home after a fun-filled, informative evening, with a lot of food for thought.
