CHYK Transformation Circle (CTC)

CHYK Transformation Circle (CTC)

CTC sessions continued on 7th July with a movie workshop conducted by CHYK Secretary, Aravind, on the theme of #Relationship Hacks……Bonding without Bondage!

The workshop was based on the popular movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Using the relationships between the various characters in the movie, different aspects of relationships were discussed. The discussion started with a quick description of the relationships between the main characters in a few words. The participants were then asked to repeat this exercise towards their own personal relationships so that they could understand them better. A debate was held to decide the relative importance of Head vs Heart in a relationship which was very fiercely contested between the two sides! Difference between attachment vs love was discussed and the importance of Pause was understood through an interesting activity. Some subtle points about asking as well as giving forgivenesswere discussed through an interesting activity. The importance of commitment in love was also touched upon. Thus, a crash course on relationships was done using the movie theme and its characters.

The expert session on relationships was held by Dr. Sunitha Shankar, a clinical psychologist, on 15th July. Participants were first made to understand the dynamics of a relationship. Then the various relationships that the characters were involved in, be it, father and son, fiancé and fiancée, friends, etc. in the movie were analyzed, discussed and how they could have been improved upon. A very interesting & enlightening evening spent with Dr. Sunitha on case studies and questions on how to improve one’s personal relationships with a win-win attitude.

21st July: Last segment of Part 1 of CTC based on “Lead to Unleash – Leadership, Adaptability, Teamwork”. A trek @Kanheri Caves was organized by CHYK Mumbai “Explore with CHYK - Connect with Nature to understand the Nature of Leadership!” An experiential learning program which was open to youth from the age of 13 to 30 yrs. A total of 45 explorers joined the trek and what a time they all had!!

This trek was a unique one for many reasons:

  • The theme - Leadership through Nature was innovatively demonstrated through 5 elements (water, Earth, Fire, Space, and Air). Various activities conducted to understandleadership qualities through these elements at different points in the hike won the hearts of all!
  • The Team itself was an awesome combination of various talents and strengths that helped organize and conduct the event –Malvika, Aishwarya, Chitra Viswanathan, Deepak, Jay, Kavya, Nimisha Parekh, YV, Sabarees, YV Saurabh Bhandari, YV Saurabh Mahaldar, Shaheen, Shruti Shetty.
  • Each element was explained and an activity was conducted by different team members. A unique demonstration of seamless coordination, mutual cooperation based on individual strengths that fortify and make an effective team under the leadership of an able, dynamic and creative leader – Aravind!
  • This was another opportunity to feel Gurudev's full grace within and without! “No matter how many times it happens, each time makes me feel special and thankful to Gurudev for getting me into Chyk! There were so many events that happened related to this trek which was a manifestation of Divine Grace alone!”– Aravind
  • “The biggest grace factor that we experienced is our Team. We take our awesome teams for granted sometimes but we realize that it is actually such a powerful manifestation of grace!” – Aravind

On 22nd July: Leadership (cont) & Concluding session of Part 1 with Swami Swatmanandaji. What can be a better way to conclude the series! On one hand Swamiji had the participants in splits with his witty one-liners and on the other, he encouraged, pushed each one to overcome their fears through the fireball eating activity. A delicious, thought-provoking “green tea bag” session was the finale on leadership qualities.

This remark by a mother of a CTC participant sums up CTC Part 1 - “Thank you for all the lovely sessions at the camp. Each session was better than the next.  May God bless all team members.A special thanks to Swamiji”
