"Geetathon" by Br Ved Chaitanyaji

On the day of Guru Poornima I received a pamphlet announcing the “Geetathon Program”,

where the Holy Bhagavad Gita was to be explained by Br Ved Chaitanyaji over a period of 18

days. The program was to be held in the residence of different devotees across Kharghar. As I

was not very familiar with Bhagavad Gita, I was a bit apprehensive about being able to

understand it in such a short duration. However Swamiji encouraged me to attend the program

thus dispelling all my doubts.

On the 4th of August 2015 we had the first discourse at Shri Karunakaranji’s residence In

Kendriya Vihar, Kharghar. 30 to 40 devotees had assembled for the discourse. Swamiji began

the discourse in his usual captive manner and explained to us what we can expect in the

forthcoming short sessions. The Hosts and the members of the Kharghar Ashram invited and

encouraged their acquaintances also to attend the series. It was wonderful to see many people

taking advantage of the opportunity and like me several benefitted from the wisdom held in the

ancient postulates of the Bhagavad Gita. The participation increased day by day and reached to

about 80 -90 devotees while concluding the 18th session at Shri Kalraji’s residence.

All the hosts took great efforts to make the attendees comfortable and offered delicious

prasadams. We looked forward to each session everyday to listen to the nectarine words of

Swamiji who encapsulated the essence of Bhagavad Geeta in a lucid way. The 90 to 120

minute session passed off in a wink without interruptions. The radiant looks of the participants

after the end of each session was quite apparent. I am sure that these intro lectures must have

inspired many like me to take a dive deep into the Bhagavad Geeta.

A special thanks to Manju Amma who worked relentlessly and coordinated with all the hosts to

make it happen. Heartfelt thanks to Swamiji for conceiving this idea and executing it. Last but

not the least our Pranams to our Pujya Gurudev and Almighty for the successful conclusion of

the program.
