Text about the exhibit
How does a Realized Master move about in the world (amidst various situations)?

रागद्वेषवियुक्तैस्तु विषयानिन्द्रियैश्चरन् ।
आत्मवश्यैर्विधेयात्मा प्रसादमधिगच्छति ॥२- ६४॥
The self-controlled man moving among objects, with his senses under restraint,
and free from both attraction and repulsion, attains peace. ॥2- 64॥

__________________________
प्रसादे सर्वदुःखानां हानिरस्योपजायते ।
प्रसन्नचेतसो ह्याशु बुद्धिः पर्यवतिष्ठते ॥२- ६५॥
In that peace all pains are destroyed;
for, the intellect of the tranquil-minded soon becomes steady. ॥2- 65॥

A Man of perfection deals with situations in life without strong likes & dislikes. This frees the intellect from all fluctuations and makes it steady to contemplate upon the Self to drop the Ego.

__________________________
इन्द्रियाणां हि चरतां यन्मनोऽनु विधीयते ।
तदस्य हरति प्रज्ञां वायुर्नावमिवाम्भसि ॥२- ६७॥
For, the mind which follows in the wake of the wandering senses,
carries away his discrimination, as the wind carries away a boat on the waters. ॥2- 67॥

__________________________
He attains Peace who remains unmoved, into whom all desires enter,
as (River)waters enter the ocean, which filled from all sides,
remains unmoved, but not unlike the ‘desirer of desires’ . ॥2- 70॥

That man attains peace, who abondaning all desires moves about without longing, without the sense of “I” ness and “My” ness))

Renouncing desires, attachment and ego he discovers oneness with the Supreme Consciousness or Brahman.

__________________________
एषा ब्राह्मी स्थितिः पार्थ नैनां प्राप्य विमुह्यति ।
स्थित्वास्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृच्छति ॥२- ७२॥
This is the Brahmic-state(Self-Knowledge), O Son of Pritha. Attaining this, none is deluded.
Being established therein, even at the end of life, one attains oneness with Brahman. ॥2- 72॥

This idea can also be simply represented in a mathematical equation.

God + Ego = Man.
Man – Ego = God
God self-forgetful of His own true nature is the deluded man. Man awakened to the Self’s glory is God.

How to drop the Ego?
Listen to Vedanta(Shravan), reflect on it(manan) & Contemplate on the Self(Nididhyasan) Surrender the Ego in devotion by cultivating a relationship with the Lord Dedicate yourself to a higher cause and lose yourself in it

Anecdote:

Swami Chinmayananda was a very dynamic orator. Once, after his talk, a long-time devotee was asked what did Swamiji say today? She said – “I was too distracted by His silence. I did not hear the words.”

His day began at 3am and ended beyond 10pm. He lived every moment for others. During a camp in San Jose, after completing some work, He turned to a devotee and looked intensely into her eyes in all love and said – “Everything is for others! Never ask for anything!”

Just before the Maha-samadhi while at the hospital, despite the tubes attached to his body, Swamiji’s face shone with profound peace. Swami Chidananda, the gurubhai of Swami Chinmayananda since the time they had both studied together with Swami Sivananda, met him and later said - “Swami Chinmayananda is Brahman.

It is Ishwara Darshana to see him. He is beyond the body. He has dived into and merged with the Self. His life has been the life of 10 masters. It would take 10 people to accomplish what Swamiji accomplished in his own lifetime.”

Design Notes

The ramp ascends even further and the visitor walks through the final archway, which is in the form of the Realised Master. Surrounding him are waves of the ocean, by which, he is undisturbed and remains in a state of stillness. On the left side is a boat that is getting tossed about in the stormy oceans. on the right side is a calm ocean with Swami Chinmayananda riding in a boat.
