Hanuman Chalisa Competition

With the grace of Pujya Gurudev and blessings of Hanuman Ji, the Chinmaya Jayam zone conducted the Hanuman Chalisa Competition on 10th January’26 at the GMES school, Vile Parle East.

The Jayam zone received 500+ registrations both online and offline for the Hanuman Chanting Competition. 360+ students across different age groups enthusiastically participated and recited chaupais from the Hanuman Chalisa. The competition rounds commenced in the morning and were conducted in batches at different time slots until dusk.

While the competition was in progress in the classrooms, the parents attended a satsang by Br. Samartha Chaitanya Ji. The talk emphasized on the qualities of Hanuman Ji, drawing parallels with relevant anecdotes and examples from our daily lives to help us imbibe these powerful qualities.

Parents were also informed about the upcoming Hanuman Havan on 1st Feb’26 and we’re encouraged to register themselves and their families. The Jayam zone’s registration team distributed fliers for the Havan and QR codes were also placed at strategic points for spot registrations.

Post the competition, the students and parents together participated in a dancersize (dance + exercise) activity and joyfully danced to the melodious tunes of the Hanuman Chalisa.

The parents and students were then ushered to the school grounds for the grand Hanuman Ji Mela – An event of fun and frolic, bala and buddhi.

Hanuman Mela organised alongside the competition which received an overwhelming response.

A variety of interesting games were specially curated for the Mela, based on Hanuman Ji’s qualities highlited in the powerful Shloka – ‘Buddhir Balam Yasho Dhairyam Nirbhayatvam Arogatam. Ajaadyam Vaak Patutvam Cha Hanumat Smaranaat Bhavet’.

Children and families gleefully posed and took selfies with cut-outs of Hanuman Ji and Ram Darbar.  They also coloured their favourite Super Hero Hanuman Ji in the colouring corner.

A  ‘Temple Information wall’ and an artwork display of various Hanuman Chalisa paintings done by Jayam zone’s Bala Vihar students, was truly appreciated by all the visitors. A Chaat corner, Cotton Candy Man, Packaged Snacks and DIY kits stall were also set up and attracted large crowds.

After the Hanuman Chalisa competition rounds concluded,  the Mela was open to the public and non participants too from 5:30 PM onwards till 8 PM.
