Chinmaya Jayam Balavihar celebrates Ramnavami 2023

The children of Jayam Balavihar, their parents and grandparents prepared for a month to welcome the birth of Shri Ram by performing the sadhana of Likita Japa and Nama Japa. Some samples of their work can be seen in the images below.  

On the 30th. of March, the children of senior Balavihar, along with their mothers, met on Zoom to celebrate Ram Navami. They chanted the Rama Stuti and recited the Nama Japa “Shri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram” eleven times. Mothers and children made presentations on “Ramayana” and “Learning from Ramayana.” A couple of the children’s presentations can be seen below. They sang the Rama Bhajan and a Carnatic hymn composed by the South Indian saint Thyagaraja. The meaning of the hymn was also explained. Balavihar student Bhavya and Daksh then enacted a small play of Shri Bharat requesting Shri Ram to return from vanavasa to rule Ayodhya. Shri Ram declines to abandon his duty to his father and gives his padukas to Shri Bharat, who returns to Ayodhya carrying them reverently on his head.

On March 31st. the Junior Balavihar met at the Jayam Center to celebrate the festival. After opening prayers, they sang Rama Bhajans, heard the stories of Jatayu and the Squirrel who helped Shri Ram build the Sagar Setu. There was a quiz on Ramayana and children were given a maze which they had to navigate to reach Lord Rama. They chanted the Nama Japa and performed the Arati. Some images are below.
