Geeta Chanting Competition – Jayam Zone
With the grace and blessings of the Lord and Pujya Gurudev, Jayam Zone successfully completed this year’s first ever online Geeta Chanting competition.
There were more than 250 participants who took part in with great enthusiasm which consisted of Balavihar children, students from various participating schools and adults.
All rounds of the competition were conducted on Zoom. WhatsApp groups were created for each of the categories and regular online chanting classes were conducted to train the participants which was well received.
These WhatsApp groups were also used to communicate necessary information and important updates relating to the competition which were posted regularly.
The school teachers/principals, parents and participants all cooperated very well, enabling us to conduct all rounds of the competition in the true “Yagna Spirit”.
The zone conducted the results announcement programme on 2nd and 3rd Jan, 2021.
The programme was conducted in two sessions; one for Group A, B and C ( on Jan 2nd) and the other one for Groups D, E, F, G/H ( on 3rd Jan)
The online event on both the days started with the Balavihar alumni chanting the invocation prayers and singing the New Year Sanskrit song composed by Swami Tejomayananda ji.
This was followed by a short presentation on Chinmaya Mission and the various activities/ classes conducted in the Jayam Zone.
Thereafter, there were interactive sessions on both the days by Shri Vidhu Sharma on
“Practical application of Geeta in daily life” (on 2nd Jan) and
“ Spirituality-an inward journey”( on 3rd Jan) as well as a talk on “ Benefits of Chanting” by Swamini Krishnapriyananda ji ( Swamin Jayam zone).
Positive feedback was received from the audience as they found these specially organised sessions by both the speakers very informative as well as inspiring. The programme’s main highlight was the announcement of the prize winners which was done using slide share wherein along with the names, all the winners were also presented with virtual trophies and medals much before they receive their real ones!
The event concluded with Shanti path and inviting all the participants to participate again in Geeta chanting competition 2021.
