Welcome to CHINMAYA PRERANA!

Chinmaya Prerana is the name of Chinmaya Mission Navi Mumbai center, that was founded in the year 2009. It is strategically located within the hub of Navi Mumbai’s ‘Smart City’ Kharghar. The community is intensely blessed with the most magnificent Shri Mahalakshmi temple at the site.

True to its name, Chinmaya Prerana center is a divine blessing for the entire Hindu community; it is a one of a kind religious and spiritual resource for the ever-expanding Navi Mumbai Hindu residents. This organization consists of an ever-growing team of deeply inspired, committed, dedicated volunteers, who are inspired to inspire. They diligently and unconditionally give religious, spiritual, cultural and social service.

This Navi Mumbai center of Chinmaya Mission functions as a zonal wing of the Chinmaya Seva Trust, Mumbai, that is affiliated to the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust. The Center caters to all age groups with a diversified range of spiritual class activities. Shishu Vihar is for children aged 3 - 5, Bala Vihar for kids aged 6 - 12, Yuva Kendra for youth aged 13 – 18, Setukari for the young householders, Devi Group for ladies and Vanaprastha for the senior citizens. These activities currently occur within its satellite centers at Airoli, Ghansoli, Koperkhairane, Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul, Seawoods, CBD, Kharghar; now further sprouting at Taloja, Kamothe, Panvel and beyond.

These classes serve to share, explain and unravel the knowledge and wisdom of Vedanta, the essential core of Hinduism. It is the universal science of life, relevant to all people of all backgrounds and faiths, that follows the Vedic teacher-student tradition (guru-shishya parampara) and makes available the ageless wisdom, the knowledge of universal oneness, providing the tools to realize the wisdom in one’s life. Vedanta inspires spiritual seekers of Hinduism and other religions denominations to understand their own faith better. Thus, although Chinmaya Mission is a Hindu organisation, it does not seek to convert other religious practitioners. The goal is to provide practical means for spiritual growth and sustaining happiness.

In addition, Chinmaya Prerana (per the worldwide Mission tradition) promotes Indian classical art forms and operates numerous social service projects. To date, millions worldwide have benefitted directly or indirectly from Chinmaya Mission’s numerous centres, ashrams, classes, events, services and projects. The emphasis is to appreciate the potential as human beings and recognize the importance of inner transformation, based on the teachings from our ancient texts Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and the great epics - Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Formally trained and qualified spirituality teachers who are designated as swamin or brahmachari with devotion and unconditional love, share this Sanatana Dharma knowledge that inspire spiritual seekers, enabling their inner transformation.

Chinmaya Prerana center members unitedly, collectively perform and celebrate a wide variety of religious and traditional festivals and national commemorations and holidays.
