Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations
Online Sadhana on 4th Sep
To keep up the momentum and enthusiastic participation of the Shravan Somvar Sadhana group of devotees, the Chinmaya Jayam zone organised an online session for Ganesh Chaturthi Sadhana.
The Ganesha Atharvashirsha was chanted and it’s essence was explained by Br. Samartha Chaitanya Ji. This was followed by the chanting of ‘Om Gum Ganapataye Namah’ 108 times.
Bala Vihar & Shishu Vihar celebration 5&6th Sept
On Friday, 5th September, the eve of Anantachaturdashi, the Bala Vihar class of the Chinmaya Jayam zone celebrated the Ganesha festival.
Each child was asked to bring an Aarti Thali to class. The children were at their creative best and decorated their respective thalis by making Ganesha designs with Betel leaves, turmeric, Kumkum and flower petals. The children then performed Aarti to ‘Sukh Karta, Dukh Harta’ with their own custom made thalis for their beloved Bappa.
Thereafter, the significance of the visarjan and the chanting of ‘Ganapati Bappa Moraya’ was explained. Delectable homemade modaks were distributed as prasad, thus concluding a very joyous occasion.
However, Jayam zone’s Shishuvihaar students did not want to be left behind. On 6th September, the Shishuvihaar sevika’s also organised a special celebration for their class. They engaged the young toddlers and preschoolers with action songs, and mushak and elephant poses. An interesting story on Ganesh Visarjan was narrated to the children, who happily whispered into Ganpati Bappa’s ears ‘Ganpati Bappa Moraya, pudhchya varshi lavkar yaa’. The session concluded with art work and prasad distribution.
