Swamini Kaivalyanandaji Satsang
“Chinmaya – The Shishya”
2 nd August
On the eve of Pujya Gurudev’s samadhi day, around 50 members of Chinmaya Narayan zone
gathered at Acharya college hall in Chembur. They had a special opportunity to listen to
Swamini Kaivalyanandaji expounding the glories of Gurudev as young Balan and specially as
a young shishya who made a glorious entry into the spiritual path.
It was indeed a wonderful sadhana to reminisce about some popular episodes and some not-
so-heard-of anecdotes about Gurudev and his interactions with his father, sisters, Swami
Sivanandaji and Swami Tapovanji Maharaj among others. Swamini Amma narrated the
stories and incidents in her characteristic heartfelt manner with accompanying visuals and
sketches which pulled at everyone’s heartstrings and filled everyone’s mind with even deeper
love and reverence to their Guru!
The highlight of the satsang was listening to how dynamic Gurudev was before and after his
spiritual awakening and how deep a ‘mumukshu’ he was. It inspired one and all to hasten on
the spiritual path and strengthen their urge for liberation even more. It was an evening well
spent in revelling in Gurudev’s mahima for all the sadaks.
