Chinmaya Mahotsav

After weeks of inspired planning and hectic efforts, the Chinmaya family of about 200 members from Bala Vihar, CHYK, Devi Group, and Study Group came together to celebrate. CHYKs welcomed everyone in a traditional manner and helped conduct the various events. Co-ordinators for Chinmaya Diagnostic Services and Gita-chanting spoke about their activities. Winners of Gita-chanting Competition were given the opportunity to chant together on stage. Bala Vihar children had a wonderful time, in a quilling craftwork session. There were ice-breaking activities for adults. Each member got a chance to make brief presentations with their group on stage.

Brni. Prachiti Chaitanya was introduced to the members and she gave a brief address. The Study Group put forth a unique musical quiz where the audience had to guess the related Vedantic concepts reflected through the lyrics of popular Hindi songs. After a simple, lip-smacking lunch, Devi Group members conducted some fun games that were enjoyed by the young and old. Dynamic CHYKs put up a medley of items, including group-singing of a patriotic song, Priyam Bharatham, a semi-classical dance on Jaya Jaya Sankara, a contemporary rap on Varanasi and a humorous mime act, with a social message on Mobile Madness and Selfie Craze.

The grand finale was the funfair where Bala Vihar sevaks and parents coordinated to put up entertaining game stalls and delicious food stalls. A medical camp was simultaneously organized, providing various medical assessments, which were greatly appreciated. The day ended with hearts filled with satisfaction, with bonds being further strengthened, with memories gathered to cherish for a long time and with resolves deepened to continue evolving through sadhana and seva.
