Swami Advaitanandaji Yagna

In the morning sessions, Swamiji spoke on Taittiriya Upanishad, Brahmanand Valli. He explained how Brahman is inexplicable and cannot be perceived by any of the sense organs; Brahman can be indicated by Satyam, Gnyanam and Anantam. Swamiji said the world was a creation of God, explaining the concept of Maya, avarana and vikshepa. He explained the stages of evolution, starting with five elements and pancha koshas. In the evening sessions, Swamiji spoke eloquently on the divine and the demonic qualities mentioned in Chapter 16, Bhagawad Geeta. He elaborated on some qualities like fearlessness, control of the senses, gentleness and modesty. He explained how one can develop these qualities to be successful in life. Talking of demonic qualities, he mentioned lust, anger and greed, which the Lord describes as the gates of hell. Swamiji summarized the teachings of the chapter by explaining how the divine qualities liberate us from the sorrows of the world, whereas demonic qualities create bondage and lead to man’s downfall. The audience loved the unique style of using funny anecdotes while explaining complex concepts. With the grace of the Lord and the blessings of Pujya Gurudev, the 16th year of the Yagna was a great success. Over a period of one week, about 250 devotees attended the discourses and benefitted from Swamiji’s wisdom.
