Bala Vihar Celebration

Bala Vihar children from 11th Road, Chembur completed their text on Sri Hanuman and presented their learning in front of their parents. The entire program was beautifully anchored by three future sevikas, who are senior Bala Vihar children. The event was based on the sloka, Buddhir Balam. The artwork done by sixty four children of Hanuman’s backbone with their own write-up of his eight divine qualities was displayed, on the walls. The qualities were explained by the children in the form of skits and activities that involved both children and parents. To explain Buddhi, the children narrated incidents from real life where they use their Buddhi and a Quiz was conducted. Balam was demonstrated, physically through a tug-of-war activity for parents and mentally through the enactment of an episode from Gandhiji’s life. A skit from Gurudev’s life explained how hard work and perseverance were requisites for achieving Yash. To display Dhairyam, scenes of how courageously IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan faced the Pakistan army were enacted. Nirbhayatvam was captured through the scene of a small girl in a sinking ship, who was fearless as she had faith in her father, who was the captain of the ship and through an exciting Fireball-swallowing activity for parents. Arogatam was shown through a display of Surya Namaskar. Ajaadyam or alertness at physical and mental level was explained by games. Vak Patutvam and the importance of when, where and how much to speak was indicated, by giving speakers just a minute to talk impromptu on different topics.
