Janmashtami Celebrations By Bala Vihar Children

On 22nd August 2019, senior Bala Vihar children of Matunga celebrated Janmashtami. They chanted Govinda Damodara stotram, Geeta Dhyanam and Bhagawad Geeta Chapter 18. They participated in a quiz on the life of Sri Krishna, based on the day, place and time of Krishna's birth and His leelas. Parents sang bhajans. The celebration concluded with distribution of prasad.

On 23rd August, Bala Vihar children of Dosti - Wadala celebrated Janmashtami. The children enthusiastically participated in a quiz. They enjoyed stories on how to lead life ‘the Krishna way’. This was followed by bhajans and the birthday song. The celebration concluded with distribution of prasad.

On 24th August, junior Bala Vihar children of Matunga celebrated Janmashtami. Children came in colourful traditional attire. They participated in a quiz on Sri Krishna’s birth and childhood. This was followed by bhajans. The celebration concluded with closing prayers and prasad. Independence Day was celebrated on the same day.

On 25th August, Bala Vihar children of Sion celebrated Janmashtami. After invocation, the students offered birthday cards made by them for Sri Krishna. Senior students narrated stories of Krishna's birth and why they loved Krishna. The games included Krishna-theme Housie, Word-Search and a Quiz Competition. This was followed by bhajans. Parents also participated in the activities. The celebrations ended with aarti, offering flowers to Sri Krishna and prasad.
