Workshop on Face it or Fear it at Chinmaya Varashree

Yuvaveer Prashanti conducted a workshop on ‘Face it or Fear it’ for 30 children aged 12 to 15 years. Sevikas Archana Natraj, Manjiri Lavakare and Nisha Parekh helped co-ordinate the session. The session started with the kids sharing what they feared. This was followed by a fierce debate on whether fear was real or not. The kids learnt that while danger was real, fear was a choice. What they feared was always something associated with the future. An interactive blind-fold game allowed the children to realize they feared facing fear itself! They learnt a new motto for facing life; instead of asking Why me? They would now say Try me! They discussed what they usually procrastinated. The session ended with kids painting a timely reminder on their T-shirts. It was a very interactive session and the children went home with a firm resolve to face their fears.
