Annual Study Group Meet

This event was conducted by Chandrika Vora, main coordinator-in-charge for study groups and Sunitha Shankar. In the true spirit of Study Group traditions, Gurudev’s text, Practice of Vedanta was assigned as svaadhyaaya to study group members who were eager to participate. 16 members were divided into six teams, aptly named Sama, Dama, Vivek, Vairagya, Tapas and Uparati. The quiz started out with questions like what is time, components of religion and the equation for happiness, from a Vedantic standpoint. Another round tested the understanding of terminology like Anushtana, inner wealth, Swadharma and Smriti. The dumb charades round to enact the 26 values mentioned in Chapter 12 of Bhagawad Gita had the participants discovering and enjoying themselves completely. Further question and answer rounds revised and sharpened the understanding of Vedanta fundamentals. The last round included gems and revelations from Indian history to commemorate the Independence Day. A concluding bonus question - Why does Gurudev say Spirituality is all inclusive? took the discussion and learning experience to the next level. The participants found this interactive learning a truly enriching experience and enjoyed meeting other fellow seekers. Participants left with a special photo with a chosen message from Gurudev, that they are sure to cherish.
