GURU SMARAN SAPTAH-FINALE

GURU SMARAN SAPTAH-FINALE

3rd May to 9th May 2021.

READ, REFLECT, GROW....

The 105th Chinmaya Jayanti, was celebrated by 32 Study Classes of Chinmaya Mission, Sagar Zone, through the week- long tribute called the Guru Smaran Saptah.

The Ghar Ghar Mein Satsang team, invited all classes to pay tribute to our Sadguru, through the sadhana of Shravanan and Mananam on the book, MY TREK THROUGH UTTARAKHAND, musings of Gurudev when he was P. Balakrishna Menon, a young sadhaka on a pilgrimage to Char Dham in 1948, before he took Sanyas.

Motivated by their Sevikas, class members connected with The Master, by reading His travelogue (edited by Smt. Bharati ji Sukhatankar), while observing aspects of Gurudev’s persona that inspired them the most.

The collective Mananam that took place in each online study class held during the week, saw inspired students enthusiastically share their reflections through various mediums of expression, be it essays, video bytes, sketches, poems or bhajans. While some were most moved by Gurudev's keen observation skills, others shared their amazement at his perseverance and single pointed determination to reach His destination, despite severe challenges.

Human shades of agitation and irritation also caught some people's attention, as they marvelled at the way in which Gurudev combated those, with Titiksha and immense sense control.

The humour in Gurudev's jottings, was of course missed by none. As was the 'Master Scribe's' prolific language skills, that clearly reflect through his dramatic personifications and poetic imagery, as he expressed beautifully, his deep reverence for Nature.

The highlight of the Saptah was the interactive session organized by Sevika Shailaza ji Jhunjhunwala, wherein she invited the editor of the book, Bharati ji, to share how Gurudev's dairies took the form of this book. Bharati ji's anecdotes of her precious times with Pujya Gurudev truly had the audiences riveted to their screens throughout this online interaction.

Swamini Aradhanananda ji also graced the occasion.

All in all, the Saptah was extremely well received, as a great learning experience and a befitting, love- filled homage, to our beloved Sadguru, to whom we owe so much.

As they say,

'Save the best for the last'....

So that's what we've done!!!
