GURU SMARAN SAPTAH DAY 4 Session 4

On 4th May, at 11am Sevika Manju Malkaniji’s, Nepean Sea Road class celebrated Pujya Swami Chinmayananda ji’s 104th birthday. 13 members attended the online class.

The session began with a discussion of 6 names of Gurudev and their meanings. This was very insightful, and some beautiful examples were shared. To explain ‘Shanti-Pradaya Namah’ the following example was given – once a devotee, took the idol of Krishna to the Ganga. Due to it being very crowded there, she lost the idol and became very disturbed and upset. She approached Gurudev and explained her problem. He said ‘Very good. Mother Ganga took away the form, now you go towards the formless'.

After completing the chosen names, 4 members chanted Gurudev’s 108 names.

The class then watched videos by Gurudev which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The class ended with a beautiful and very melodiously sung Guru Bhajan by a member in dedication to Gurudev. It was an extremely fulfilling morning. Our heartfelt gratitude to Gurudev who has given us this opportunity to learn the timeless knowledge of our scriptures.
