Deepawali Satsang on Deepajyotir Namostute by Swami Swatmananda

Deepawali Satsang on Deepajyotir Namostute by Swami Swatmananda On 26th October 2019, 7.15 pm - 8.15 pm. At Chinmaya Sagar, Panchsheel bldg, Churchgate

60 enthusiastic devotees collected at Chinmaya Sagar to light diyas, along Swamiji and the office staff outside Chinmaya Sagar chanting Shubham karoti kalyanam arogyam dhana-sampadah. Shatru budhi vinashaya Deepajyotir Namostute. Swamiji said, we salute the light in the lamp. We are worshippers of light in this country Bharat. 'Bha' means light, effulgence, brilliance. May this light bring auspiciousness, health, wealth and may it destroy our inner enemies. Light is symbolic of knowledge. Human life is Karmayoni. Light is symbolic of action. Any program we start, we light a lamp. Action is very important. If we have to achieve anything we have to do dynamic action. The flame is the light of Dharma, we have to act in the world righteously to bring auspiciousness. Flame always rises up.

Swamiji went on to guide us saying we have to light 5 lamps in our hearts:

  • of dharma or satya
  • of fest
  • of inspiration so we can follow our goal to reach the lord
  • fourth is the lamp of selflessness, to destroy our six internal enemies and clean our heart
  • And the lamp of bhakti, with a clean heart we can sit in sadhana.

If I am a devotee of the light inside - the Lord in my heart, I can never feel insecure or lonely. The 6th lamp is lit by the Lord who will remove my ignorance and my life is fulfilled.

After this wonderful talk Swamiji did Arti and lamps were lit by sadhaks on the altar and outside.

Bhiksha was sponsored by Smt. Sumitra Patel and was offered to all.
