Swami Swatmananda visits Devi Groups

Sevika: Manju Malkani Swamiji spoke on Bhagavad Geeta Chapter 4 – Yajna spirit and the twelve yajnas (spiritual disciplines). Veda Vyasaji in Geeta has revolutionised the meaning of the term ‘Yajna’ - from a Vedic ritual to a self-dedicated activity performed in a spirit of service to the many. The twelve yajnas can be practised on all occasions by everybody under all conditions. Yagna here means Self Effort. Through discipline we work at our own self-improvement. There is an outer sacrifice; but the inner gain helps in our evolution. Learn, understand and practice the right way with the right attitude. Practice regularly, diligently, with self-control and alert mind, to attain a higher purpose, to purify the mind, for the benefit of others and worship the Lord. Some sadhanas are done occasionally, some daily, some become a way of life. eg. fasting, self-control. The session ended with expressing our gratitude to Guru-sishya Parampara. Guru Purnima was celebrated in advance by requesting Swamiji to cut a delicious cake made by a class member, Sapna Bajaj.
