Shraavan Special, a thirteen-year old event was organised by the ladies of the zone. Salient features included chanting of Om Namah Shivaya and Mrityunjaya mantra for an hour, on all Mondays of the holy Shraavan month. This was followed by Rudra puja conducted by Tanmay Chaitanyaji. 21 ladies had registered for the event and they assembled at mukhya yajmaan’s home. Each participant was given a bowl of belpatra, flowers, akshata and an oil diya. Stress was laid on sukshma bhaav of Shiva Shiva. Devotees made their offering after touching it to their hearts. The room echoed with the constant chanting of Om Namah Shivaya. On completion of the Rudra puja, each devotee was asked to offer panchaamrit to the lingam in the main altar. This was followed by Om Jai Jagadeesha Hare and Gurudev’s aarti. Prasad was simple: a fruit and a sweet. This along with a small steel bowl as souvenir was given to each participant. Devotees went home in a state of bliss, as they basked in the glory of the Shiva and Krishna consciousness, as the last day of Shraavan coincided with Gokulashtami.
